Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Police report they were notified late on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they added.
Law enforcement then found multiple other marked automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the community for details.
An important representative stated the incident left him stunned and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This event hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
