Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Has Seen Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
