Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has had a difficult period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's first title since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at 21 different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.
His retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.
However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, backed up by an improved serve.
He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to push for a final set.
He rescued 4 early chances in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, he clinched the title with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
